General Conference Weekend

It feels so good to just step back and listen to the wise words of the prophet and apostles

So relaxing, inspiring, and very much needed.

Yesterday we streamed the session online, and my hands painted while my mind listened.

(You can see the painted project here, if you're so inclined)

One line I just can't get out of my head: "It's okay to scrimp and save."

It's more than okay! Get with it.

It's a huge weakness I have, but luckily Cory is what I like the call the "Anti-Spend."  So I'll follow his lead.

Which talk was your favorite? I think Sister Dalton's was mine, but Neil L Andersen's was also great. And, that guy who sounded like he was from South Africa . . . Ian Aldern??? About managing our time.

Neil L Andersen's is the talk I'm referring too. Definitely speaking to me there, and addressing a lot of questions/concerns we're running into these days. "Motherhood is not a hobby, it is a calling. You do not collect children because you find them cuter than stamps. It is not something to do if you can squeeze the time in. It is what God gave you time for." While we're still waiting to start our family, the time is coming closer and closer, and I'm excited/terrified. The money situation is a huge concern for us, but when he said "I'ts okay to scrimp and save..." I knew what I needed to be working on to work towards our goal of starting a family within the next two or three years. So that one was definitely just for me. I loved them all though, of course! :)
